Starfish Cottage is privately owned, and set within the Stoneleigh Holiday Park near Sidmouth in East Devon. It is NON-SMOKING and Self Catering.
Set within the Jurassic Coast World heritage coastline in an area of outstanding natural beauty with views over Weston Coombe to the sea, adjoining The Donkey Sanctuary. Sidmouth is just 2 miles and Exeter and M5 only 12 miles. The shingle beach, is about a mile away, is reached by a steep path. Surrounded by land owned and managed by the National Trust there is a myriad of walks encompassing heathland, wooded coombes, cliffs and beaches.
The leisure facilities include a 10m indoor pool and The Stones pub offers reasonably priced meals during the main season. Within the leisure centre is a Mini-Gym, Sauna and Solarium, while in the landscaped gardens you will find a Tennis court, Crazy golf, and a Childrens Play Park ( charges apply to most facilities ).
During the main season there is family entertainment including karaoke, prize bingo, family quizzes, a children's magician, and barbecues.
In the heart of the Heritage Coast, Stoneleigh provides the ideal setting for nature lovers and ramblers. Many footpaths and quiet lanes join the villages tucked amongst the hills and valleys. The fishing village of Beer, peaceful Branscombe and the floral parks of Sidmouth are only a few minutes away by car.
For those of you who wish to explore the West Country, this is an ideal touring centre. To the east is Dorset, Lyme Regis and ‘Thomas Hardy’ country. To the north lies Exmoor and West leads to Exeter with its magnificent cathedral, Torquay (The English Riviera), and Dartmoor.

The Donkey Sanctuary
Right next door, and free to get in. Great for children and adults alike. Open all year round. Good restaurant/café, and a shop for all those donkey essentials!
Pecorama – Beer
A ‘must visit’ attraction for the family. A mile of train rides, with tunnels and great views of the fishing village of Beer.
Norman Lockyer Observatory – Sidmouth
This could be your chance to look through a real telescope. Ring to check when open to the public.
Seaton Tramway
Lovely views from the open top tram over the Axe estuary. The line runs from Seaton to Colyford.
Bicton Park
Just 30 minutes up the road is Bicton Park with its tropical houses, ornate lakes and a railway which takes you around the grounds. A good day out for the family.
Branscombe Mill/Bakery and Forge
Just 5 minutes away, these buildings are owned by the national trust. See them, then take a walk down a flat easy path to the thatched Shanty restaurant on Branscombe beach, where the red clay of Devon meets the chalk of Dorset. Quite idyllic.
Crealy Adventure Park
A big day out for the family with lots of rides, and something for everyone.
Accommodation
Starfish cottage is a small but comfortable brick-built semi-detached bungalow, privately owned and set within the landscaped grounds of the Stoneleigh Holiday Park.
Parking is adjacent, and it has modern furnishing and decoration. It has a lounge / diner / kitchenette area with patio doors leading to steps onto a private lawn and picnic table. There are 2 bedrooms, a double and a twin, making it suitable for 2 adults and 2 children, or 3 adults. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, a wash basin and WC.
Starfish Cottage
Within the lounge area there is a colour TV with DVD player and also a radio. The kitchen area has an electric hob oven, fridge with freezer box, and a microwave. All cooking equipment is provided. Heating is provided by an electric convector heater in each room. The electric is via a pound coin operated meter. There is a laundrette, and a pay phone on site.

The Stoneleigh Holiday and Leisure Village is located in Weston, next to the donkey sanctuary, so just follow the signs for the Donkey Sanctuary, and Stoneleigh Holiday and Leisure Village from the A3052. The turn-off is about 1 mile east of Sidmouth.

A 25% deposit is required to secure booking. Weekends and short breaks can be booked outside of the peak season on the following basis :-
20 per weekday, 25 per weekend day plus 30 cleaning charge.
Discounts |
Early Bird There is a 10% discount for bookings made in January. Two Week Special There is 10% discount for all 2 week bookings. Couple + Baby For just 2 people or a couple with a baby, there is a 25% discount outside the peak months of July/Aug/Sept, and a 10% discount during the peak months. LinenBed Linen is £15 for just the double, and £30 for the double and singles. This includes sheets, duvet and pillowcases, as well as bath, hand and tea towels as well as a bath mat. |
Pets
1 well behaved pet welcome at the extra cost of £25 per week, but dogs are not permitted on the Site between 21rd July and 8rd Sept.
